Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Reduction we get, ok. But, age and FMLA discrimination is illegal

We were told to “shut up and be glad we have so much notice”

Reductions needed - fine and understandable. We’ve known it was coming since 2013.

But, SF is embracing the wrong way to do it.

Targeting the old and weak first is predatory and discrimination. Using underhanded cruel ramped up impossible requirements to get people to drop and fail is inhuman, unhealthy, and illegal.

Stand Up. Speak out. What are we afraid of? Losing our job?

Self respect - pass it on

File with EEOC if you are or have been discriminated against.

Most employment attorneys won’t take case because of costs as they are contingent cases.

It is not about the money, it is the principal.

See other post re EEOC and suggestions from labor attorney article.

Good luck.

Don’t be SF nice as they push you out the door. Do something about it.

I believe most attorneys are unwilling to go up against SF. Once they hear which company you work for...no return call, no questions about details, no joke. File with the EEOC. Go online and make an appointment. At this time, I can’t get in until September. SEPTEMBER! Make an appointment. The more who complain, the better chance that someone will listen and take action. If the EEOC approves legal action...then you might get an attorney to listen.

Look at the hypocrisy! Their values do not align with their policies. A sure way to fail. Consultants are elitist punk whores. Sorry but true.

Peoria attorney Patricia Banasi was made big $$ from both Caterpillar and Diamond-Star/Mitsubishi. I'm sure she would love to work on any of your claims against SF...

If you work in an area where most of the severed are older workers, you could make quite an impression in the national media if you had a "sit in" and refused to be carted out.

Exactly! Stand up. Speak out. Call BS when you hear it. They are counting on our silence and "going along". And we need to stand with one another. Within our teams, with in our units, stand with you neighbors, over staffed, maintain and understaffed alike. Whatever tag they have given you.. You all have more in common than we have separating us. Solidarity today, because your day is coming too.

But, SF is embracing the wrong way to do it....they most certainly are.

Targeting the old and weak first is predatory and discrimination. Using underhanded cruel ramped up impossible requirements to get people to drop and fail is inhuman, unhealthy, and illegal....they are doing that to the old and the weak, trying to force them out the door so they don't have pay them severance. I wish they would realize that they can push back and demand they are given proof that they are not meeting the requirements or that the requirements have any merit. I want people to know not to be afraid of them. ...Remember you are going to losing your job anyway, may as well go out with a bang, holding your head up high showing them you aren't weak.

Stand Up. Speak out. What are we afraid of? Losing our job?...We are going to lose our job...I wish more of my fellow co-workers would speak up and push back. Don't sit there and smile and nod when you are fed a line of crap...demand evidence for the line of crap and call them out, we know when they are lying to us making up crap..CALL THEM OUT..really we have nothing to lose. Make them afraid of you!!!!! If they know you will push back, they will be careful how hard they push you.

File with EEOC if you are or have been discriminated against.....FOR SURE.
