Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

NDS and Cisco was not a good fit

At the time of acquisition, NDS was profitable, had happy customers and happy employees. Cisco didn't consciously destroy all that, it was just a really poor fit, both organisationally and culturally. The sooner it's divested, the sooner people can start making the best of what's left. FWIW, I don't think the current leadership team will be an asset in that process. The slowly escalating pain and anguish felt by ex-NDS employees is what generates all the talk on here. Plenty have given up, besides all those that had no choice, but most retain an interest, such is the affection for NDS as it was. Those that make accusations of 'whining' etc are a perfect illustration of the cultural chasm. You guys can stay at Cisco, don't worry.

One of the products was XTV. Don't Google that from work 😁

@@SPJTgtT-3htg Don't give Cisco ideas, they'd probably buy Nintendo - wonder what they bought, and the try and turn them into a cloud gaming platform, minus any subscribers!

I seriously thought the OP was talking about Nintendo DS. I had to google it to find out that it was actually a company that Cisco bought in 2012.

What you wrote is NOT specific to NDS. With maybe 3 exceptions every single aquisition has had the same problem.

Cisco has bought and destroyed product after product. Stock goes up at purchase, goes up as the lay off half the team, goes up as they sell the shell.
