Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Marketing

While managers wear jeans marketing must dress professional at all times, even when in the office this makes no sense still think managers need to be professional at all times. I DON'T MIND WHEN I'M IN FIELD BUT COME ON IN OFFICE LET'S BE FAIR HERE.

why are you in the office? now that’s funny right there, complaining about what you have on when you’re not suppose to be in there trying to look productive. people have been losing jobs for the last two yrs and yet you whine about dress code. when your time comes and it will, dress code won’t seem so important to you.

Let's start a rumor that instead of everyone who sits at a desk jobs being gone it is everyone in "professional" dress code. Wireless gone - that rumor is already out there. Jewelry gone - I think you've heard that before. Marketing gone - same. Optical going third party - you are fired. Seems a little petty now doesn't it?

To yen.

Totallly agree.

We have associates and managers who have lost their jobs and are still fighting for their severance pay and these people are concerned about the dress code.

Believe me there are more important things to worry about then what you or someone else is vwearing to work tomorrow.

How petty! Focus on yourself and stop watching what others do. Be happy that you still have a job for now because marketing will likely be a dpt. that is easily dispensable and likely will be! Your biggest concern should be about your days being numbered instead of your dress code and what others are wearing.

I believe when a company wants to be represented as a strong reputable company, professionalism needs to be adhered to.. GM's should not be wearing jeans.. Their job seems to be to ONLY delicate and micro manage.. Why should they be in jeans! When they make their appearance onto the floor, they must keep that professional persona so members can see the confidence that the club is here to stay.. I agree marketing needs not dress professional while in club however out on the field associates need to be semi-professional.. Good assistant managers works side by side with other associates (dream world) therefore jeans would be appreciated.. It's the other dress code policies the company needs to be consistent with.

Anyways our marketing TL never Dressed up. He always walks in in jeans sweater and a coffe cup in his hand(never seen him not have coffee in hand even on the floor). Then again. 80% of the time all he did was help membership fest and floor partners. Never seen him actually do his job.

I actually enjoy being better dressed than managers with jeans on. Big diff between jeans and dress pants when engaging most members for the first time and creating a professsional impression that needs to last.
