Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

More layoffs at Xerox- USCU

Yesterday was just another day for Xerox management as they delivered the news to 29 employees that their services were no longer required. We're talking about a very tenured group of loyal employees (20-30 years of service) cast aside at the whim of Xerox management. This was done throughout the country mainly affecting the agent channel. Xerox now probably has more Chiefs than Indians. Leadership continues to strip support to partners as the so-called management continues to line its' pockets. My guess this was done to be able to take a one-time restructuring charge as they are set to announce Q1 earnings next week, and this will be their justification as to why the Q1 performance was off. Based on what I'm reading with Fuji, I hope they do their due diligence and truly understand what they are getting themselves into. Low employee morale, inept middle management and senior management that is more interested in protecting their job as they throw others under the bus. This place is doomed.

Life is better on the outside of Xerox. Sorry to the fellow who was laid off on his birthday. I heard hundreds were laid off the week of Christmas the last three Christmas’s. They’ve been brutal to tenured hard working talented people. It’s simple, the longer your tenure...the more they want to get rid of you. It really didn’t have anything to do with performance. Managers continue to pat themselves on the back and give themselves bonuses and raises for letting people go. Some day, they will have to answer a greater spiritual power

I'll go one better. I was laid off after 35 years with the company when I was injured at a customer and spent 5 1/2 months on disability. I was due to return and received a phone call from a "return to work specialist " HA, and told " my position had been "backfilled" , whatever that means, and I no longer had a job with Xerox. To add insult to injury, I recieved his phone call on my BIRTHDAY! HAPPY F..... BIRTHDAY !

Xerox has been dying for years. Ursula Burns was a horrible CEO who was highly touted as a woman leader of a global firm whose only real worth was being politically well connected. She was and is HATED by rank and file. Xerox also lost it's identity and the purchase of ACS was a disaster as ACS was a disaster to start with. No field tech I met from ACS felt otherwise.
