It’s unfortunate for those who were displaced from work as well as the leaders who had to endure the difficult process of letting good people go. Unfortunately companies must balance costly resources with demand to stay healthy. Nobody wants this to happen and It’s unfair to place blame on anyone. L3 has great employees and great managers who are doing their best to ensure the company’s continued success. Best of luck to those of you who were let go. You were our friends and colleagues and you’ll be missed. Don’t take it personally because you’re all good people. Try to understand that market dynamics, not personal agendas, drive these decisions. Balancing resources and demand isn’t a sign of irresponsible management, it’s exactly the opposite. It’s an unfortunate part of economics.

Look at everything that has happened at L-3 because of "personal" feelings that upper management, "executive positions, eg, director, CFO" had toward personnel with lower positions. Made up CHARTS a to justify ruining lives BECAUSE THEY COULD. No wonder L-3 East is sued so often and will continue to be sued. Watch out 3rd floor, executive alley. You are finally going to see how it feels....welcome to the wonderful world of litigation...
That coming from someone who’s position is apparently safe
The text titled “ No body wants this to happen” comments it is business, not personal? Is that why the CFO was let go, because he was reprimanded for adding employees to the list, that he did not like? That seems very personal to me. This last layoff isn’t the first layoff, that the CFO (J.L.) axed high performing employees because of his personal feelings, this was his second opportunity to get rid of employees that did their jobs and had an opinion . Everyone knows if you disagree with him, you are immediately on his sh-- list and will be axed at the first opportunity.
Business is one thing, but to have your life disrupted due to a personal reason, is wrong and unforgivable.
It’s not the economy - it’s an inept BD department’s inability to get business. Add to that the fact we now feel as though we have to overinflate future bids to make up for sins of the past.
Based on what I’ve experienced, most L3 management s---s. I was an employee at L3 10 years and was pushed off to disability.
No one individual can “speak” for this behemoth company and to policies implemented at myriad levels. In theory, you are correct about management and economics in general, but allow people their realities, their experiences. Anything else is condescending.
