Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

That raise!

I got an incredible raise! Also now have all the overtime I want. My team is fantastic and they are actually real, caring people. Oh, I had to leave Weatherford to get it, so... People. There is life out there! And decent companies and people!

With that .20 cent raise I can still live my life since they cut the overtime!

WFT was blast to work for the management were so busy holding each other accountable for their inability's to perform simple managerial tasks that we the workers played them for everything we could.

My advice to those still there hold out for the package and in the meantime like management do as little as possible while taking the monetary rewards.

Theres not a lot of jobs out here paying as good as the oil industry I'm a tech assembler earning less than half what I earned at WFT so stick on in there as the streets are not paved with gold out here.

The reason I tell of my success after Weatherford is to recommend to my old friends to get out of that dump. And, since Weatherford treated good people very poorly, I would like to see the remaining good people/friends get out of there and stick it to that sad hole of a 'company' and that incompetent management that have no hard skills and make very poor choices.

For those that are, "working through the tough times" at Weatherford, if you are truly happy with your choice to do so, why are you on The Layoff board?

I was a long time employee of WFT as well 15+ years and was shown the door last year in what they called a RIF as my position went away (another story there but off topic). I would have never thought about leaving the company as I had a very good paying job and liked the team that worked for me. I say this as it was a shock when I was pulled into HR that morning and it s---ed. It s---ed for a couple of weeks as my life had revolved around working. It was a couple of weeks before I realized I was not stressed and friends told me I was back to being myself again and not angry all the time. What I did not realize was that the pressure to keep product moving, people employed and deal with the crap that you have to at WFT when everything is supper tight and vendors aren't paid on time had turned me into an AHole.

I received a package from WFT upon leaving/shown the door and found a job paying more before anything they paid me out expired. I now go into work and do not find myself living to work. I do miss many of my previous co-workers at WFT and keep in touch with them and hear them saying the same thing, things aren't getting better there but they are scared to take that leap to find a new job outside the company.

Stay or go, it doesn't matter. Just don't let the company stress you to the point you family and others don't like who you are.

@SWkW92M-4vwu your point? I'm signing papers on a brand new pickup today. Something I couldn't do while working for Weatherford. So I pay more in taxes. I also take home more than you do. Silly statement.

Yep Weatherford is an absolute joke of a company to work for. Seems to me that there are still too many higher ups making big commissions/bonuses. Weatherford can’t afford to paid their basic utility bills within their facilities. Weatherford sure like to take but NEVER give!!

You may make more money but you pay more in taxes than I do.

Exactly! If your so happy that you left the company, go on with your life please. Let the people that want to work for the company through the rough times in peace, not every company is PERFECT; remember that.

I’m trying to figure out something: to those of you who claim to have left the company on your own, why is it so important for you to tell remaining WFT employees to “get out”? I mean, you left and found success (allegedly). That’s great! Enjoy it! Why spend time posting on here trying to convince those of us who still have jobs here to leave? Maybe try spending time on your own company’s site?

I also left the company. Got a huge pay raise and a bonus. Life is great. Not everyone is perfect but I am treated like a human being now. Leave that stinking ship! Your attitude will get much better the further Weatherford is in your rearview mirror!

I also left the company and now I make twice the money and life is wonderful and everybody is perfect. There is life after you leave.

Pathetic? You people who post the negativity on here are pathetic. I, too, skipped out of that mudhole of a company. Much better pay, I'm treated like a person, even get the occasional lunch on the company. Yeah. Post your 'pathetics' all you want. You're still stuck there and unwilling to move on. Goodbye sinking ship.
