Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What a Company Sounds Like When They're Not Bragging About Screwing Employees.

From RCR Wireless News:

–Emphasis on a “jobs positive” merger. Job creation was another major theme of executives’ remarks. Sprint and T-Mobile US have a combined workforce of around 240,000 globally, according to Legere and other executives; of those, around 200,000 are in the U.S., and 80,000 are full-time employees. The new company expects to have more employees when combined, than their total employee bases prior to the merger, due to expansion of retail stores to rural markets, more call centers, and in serving enterprises and new markets. Sievert said that the new T-Mobile plans to grow its workforce from the first year on, giving the specific example of plans to hire around 1,000 new positions in its enterprise group within the first 18 months. The combined company will retain both headquarters — T-Mobile US’ in Seattle, and Sprint’s in Overland Park, Kansas.

Is that happy, happy horse manure? Probably -- but at least they have enough brains NOT to brag about cutting employees to "increase profits". Don't the idiots at Verizon know how cold that sounds to potential customers? The worst part is Verizon employees, defend a company that's planning to eliminate their jobs. They're like the retarded Eloi in H.G. Wells's "The Time Machine". "Oh, cutting another twenty-thousand employees? Well, it wasn't me, yet, so I'll sit and gawp and defend the company because they have to "increase profits". 'Tards.

Woo HOO! Presidents Cabinet winner here ready to jump ship and take all my customers with me to T-Mobile! VZ thinks their network is more important than the quality of their employees.. I will work everyday to make sure they regret the day I left. Timing is everything, just waiting to see if they offer a package in all their wisdom before leaving. Don't need to work anymore but will just for the fun of it. V-Team is the biggest joke ever.. I also short VZ stock waiting for the cooked books to self implode..

This company is the biggest fake news BS story ever sold. Cmon kool aide drinkers lets hear your corporate BS replies!!

If the merger does not go through, TMUS will eventually slap us down regardless. Their 5G spectrum buys an lower frequency will prove to be the smarter purchase. Why we thought spectrum that can not penetrate anything was the answer is beyond me.. just add it to the Yahoo/AOL/TerraMark/Go90/OneTalk etc.. smart moves...

"I'm curious to see if this purchase actually happens."

I am too -- would rather it didn't. I have a feeling with three major competitors, the good deals Sprint and T-Mobile give for MVNOs will go away and prices will go higher.

Time will tell, I guess.
