How do we get in touch with a union rep, several people in my store have had enough, not only of our dm but the company also. We are sick of being threatened with our jobs, several coachings a day as we are being coached out of a job. Over half of my location is on a pip. Quotas are unattainable.Were sick of being treated like a number and not people. If we are going to forced out we will at least get the union involved as we know Verizon hates the union.

@1myn you think small my friend, as a union tech the last time I made under 70K was in1992. I have not made less than 6 figures since 1999. I will say once again you think small. Aim a bit higher there is money to be made for those willing to go out and get it. Sometimes you got to give a little to get a lot.
My departure had nothing to do with the Union, there were events that transpired and my faith in the company waned more than ever and i felt it was time to take my talents elsewhere.
And again I’m sticking to my original statement no Union Leader/Organizer/Member made any promises nor have i ever met a member that has made such silly statements.

I just love people who talk about Unions like they know what the hell theyre talking about. Let’s clear some stuff up from someone who was their without a Union and was their when we went Union.
A Union organizer will NEVER make any promises. What will be discussed is goals and objectives and what you may potentially get out, point blank no promise will be made. At the same time you will have a company HR jackoff represented by VZW hold countless meetings spreading false info on the implications of Unionizing. Funny how that works....
Once Unionized nobody suddenly vanishes. Your Union leaders and organizers are always available to you and will be there for every step and any questions or concerns.
You may go on strike however no deal can be accepted without the majority vote, your Union leaders may suggest which way to vote but at the end of the day its entirely up to the members. Remember if you go on strike the more that cross the line the harder it will be to better yourself, your family and co workers. There’s zero benefit being a scab and crossing the picket line during a strike.
Union membership is shrinking that part is true, but the spreading of misinformation certainly isn’t helping its cause. If you have an agenda against the union that’s fine that’s how you feel and we can’t change it only educate, but don’t speak as if you know from experience because clearly you’re full of crap.

If your goal is to screw VZW, go for it. That's all you will get out if the experience. The union will send a paid organizer who will get you all worked up, believing you will have so much power with the union! There will be promises of improvements. If the union gets in, the organizer disappears and will get hero treatment from the union bosses. You and your co-workers will be turned over to a union negotiator you never met. The negotiator will try for awhile, then whine to you that the company is mean and won't give in to union demands. Then, maybe a year later, you will be told to either go on strike or accept a crummy deal with no improvements. The negotiator will blame the company and promise that over time, improvements will come in future negotiations. In the meantime, you will pay union dues out of every paycheck. This is the reality. It's why unions only represent about 6% of employees in companies nationwide. If unions were the answer to legitimate job issues like those posted on this blog, unions would be growing. Instead, they are fighting for their survival. I sympathize with employees going through all the changes. I left 3 years ago because I didn't like the changes either. A union is not the answer.
Unions are for people who are too weak or too stupid to manage their own careers. So they pay what little money they have to a third party who does nothing but pocket the cash. Just send your money directly to me instead... it will do you about as much good as throwing it at Jimmy Hoffa.
Union is so old school. It was for the mob days when people were afraid to speak their mind. My Dad was in a union when I was a little girl. He hated paying dues to them. Said it was a waste of his hard earned money. No union for me.

How many times do you need to hear it. Brooklyn and Everett joined the union. After a 7 week strike and thousands in list pay their comp is the exact same, union has no say in quotas or comp and they are on same pip process as everyone else. Union got what they wanted though, money in their pockets direct from employees checks. Be careful what you wish for.
The interview process for slammers must be an interesting one.

Well i shoved products on customers without fully disclosing information in hopes they would never find out just so i could make a quick buck.
i found it to be the case that reps who make the lowest money are the smartest. the higher paid are the slammers that when fired never get a job like that, ever. i seen that in my 9 years.

Ehh, people in my store are making 55,000 to 60,00 easy, and the union ain't taking any of it!
This is not 2005. Store reps do not make 60-80k. More like 30-40k.
@mdr, almost everyone in my store makes over 60.000 a year some over 80, so you get into your oacer and go back to your trailer....troll!
