Well I’ll be getting allot of free stuff from Wf if they get rid of SSS. The teams do a horrible job with tag and tare maintenance.

If you are an SSS and are suddenly being asked to train others at your job, you can guess why. Remember when cashup was one full time position?

Other regions have only ever had vinyl tags some never even used electronic tags.

You can definitely argue both sides. As a former SSI/current SSS, most people are so ridiculously computer illiterate that you would need MSIs hitting multiple stores a day just to keep up with the little things that "break", like changing toner in a printer, or plugging in a monitor. And if you're halfway decent at your job, you're maintaining all the price changes in the store and proactively auditing for mistakes.

On the other hand, stores outside of SW could lose their SSS tomorrow, and in two months' time, you wouldn't even know the position existed. I only single out the SW region because we have e-tags, but even those are being phased out. By end of summer 2019, all SW stores will be 100% paper tags through SLAW.

It boils down to this: if you haven't already, start creating some good will with all the teams, especially the one you could see yourself working in if SSS wan't a thing anymore. The more valuable you make yourself to the teams now, the less money they'll try to take away from you when you transition into their department.

There is so much extra crap we still do. No one else has any common sense. I get called to the conference room to see why the tv is not working.. I flipped a power switch and walked away.

If you were a SSS you would understand the extra crap they make use do takes time away from our weekly duties. No one knows except us how it can and used to be. And is.

As with all positions some people are good some are bad.SSS is already under store support so idk wtf they keep saying store support will do audits, store support already does the audits.

SSS in my store is a great cashier and always around to help- we're lucky to have him. Our old SSS was lazy AF. I heard he was separated for sleeping in his office.

Maybe your TL or someone in leadership should have a talk with them? Holding people accountable or actually managing them apparently is far fetched at WFM.

Our SSS is supposed to work up front 20hrs a week, instead walks around holding a scan gun for 8hrs waiting to leave at 3pm Monday thru zFriday. Does not even bag when bagging assistance is called. Instead a TM from a all ready short staffed team has to go help.

Glad to hear the festering pile of crap continues to deteriorate. It's been three years since I handed in my resignation and I have never regretted it. I occasionally visit this site just to verify and confirm that I made the right decision. Looks like I did.

SSS is already under store support my guess is they will dissolve the position and repost with a lower cap and different title.

Smart STL's will keep former SSS 's on the store support team and allow them to continue doing their job. Teams are too busy to add in the extra work. Our SSS rings on a register 20 hours a week, anyway. That guy works his @ss off, it would be a foolish to let him go.

I wouldn’t put it past them to get rid of SSS. I know at least In The NA there isn’t much supervision if you don’t want to do much you don’t have to.Not that I take advantage of it but it’s still the same as it’s been since the SSI role was cut. No clear direction lots of pointless meetings because nobody can make a clear decision about anything. Product teams don’t communicate with the data team. So TM come to the SSS expecting us to know what’s going on even though the people at the regional office don’t even know.We are told to have the teams email there regional product groups but most of the time they get no answer or something very vague.

I WISH. But no, SSS isn't going anywhere. Store Support will continue to hold everything together for other teams. I'm curious as to all the hate on here for SSS. They don't get paid more and do more work for the same money as you, so why you worried about them?

Looking forward to that the teams can’t do there jobs already if this is the case be ready for the sh-- storm to come. Isn’t SSS already categorized as store support anyway being under what use to be called customer service?
