Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

This would be funny if it was not sad

Fidelity made it on America's Best Employers' list for 2018 published by Forbes, and not only did we make it on the list but we are among top 100 best employer companies.

Am I the only one who finds this to be both funny and sad?

Have built a fine sales career at Fidelity over the past decade and could complain one bit. There is zero room for unethical behavior. I feel zero remorse for those who were let go because of the reimbursment program.

To those saying they're treated like sh--, if that's true, I'm sorry to hear that. Honestly though, I would find another place to work then. I've been an employee for a few years now and, while the company isn't perfect, it's a pretty sweet place to work (and I've worked at almost a dozen others). The few grumbles I've heard are mostly from veterans who are resistant to change and, frankly, should have moved on years ago.

To the poster that wants to leave Fidelity, just submit one bad receipt and 5 years later they will help walk you out the door.

Our site made it to the list of “best places to work,” only reason being our gm was gunning for that list and it was made known. People were afraid to say anything negative because of the waves of layoffs and the common knowledge that we needed to “shut up and row.” I’m not saying everyone is miserable but I know a ton of people are. They’re just afraid to speak up.

Don’t confuse the idiotic actions of people who submitted the same computer receipts and were fired with what’s happened recently. This is completely different. Does Fidelity have access to private banking and credit card transactions? Were those affected because they used their Fidelity credit cards? These are questions that need answers.

Wow - who are you people? I love Fidelity and have built great career with them. 10% profit sharing , 7% 401k match and top notch every other benefit. Yes they fired people for stealing from company with computer scandal but we are not in a business that you can employ ethically questionable people.

I guarantee you they rank high because of employee satisfaction with employee benefits (Profit sharing, 401k match, etc).

You get good benefits in exchange for being treated like a cog in the green machine, unless you are in upper levels of management. These upper levels mainly consist only of Fidelity “lifers.” There is a trust issue internally at Fidelity; they only trust what they know. Close minded to all ideas other than there own.

I can assure you, this is fake news at its finest. You would not believe how bad they treat some employees. The ones they like though, can walk on water. Bad corporate culture at all roles of management. Saving grace is their sales force, they are actually good people.

Would like to see the metrics they use... some sort of forced surveys or something the company does to look good?
