People who work from home with official approval from their manager are first on the layoff list.

These people don't count towards the WARN notice totals, so they are at risk of layoff first.

Good salary, decent benefits and work from home with manager approval.

If you are over 50 and planning to retire early, then hang on for a couple more years.

If you are under 50, you will not make it to retirement. You need to find another job while you can still do that, then retire there.

Oracle will be going under in the next few years. Cloud is a failure. They will be able to cover that up for a while, but there is no future at Oracle.

Oracle is a tier one company where there are only about a dozen in total. Everybody has heard of Oracle so you can impress your friends by telling them where you work. Oracle is very similar to Apple. If you move elsewhere then it's not Oracle and not a tier one company

It was good work when one could engineer, but the rug was not stable for the 13 years I worked there.

If you like just following rules and procedures, and don't really care about innovating, Oracle is the place for you. Always have an exit strategy as they do regular layoffs.

To answer the question you really need to know the length of your hamstrings. The best test is whether you can grab your ankles whilst bending over.

With Oracle you're part of a big, happy 'severely dysfunctional' family

There are few jobs to match those at Oracle. The grass isn't always greener, as they say. With Oracle you're part of a big, happy family.

Sounds like Management material to me.

Only you can answer that fully. However, regardless of what you choose to do, make certain you are marketable by keeping up on skills that are in demand. That way you have the option of leaving if you want or the ability to find work quickly if the job at Oracle falls through.
