The way I see it Cisco was the winner here. You were working for them at 33% below market rate!!! You realize now that you were working for less than you are worth and you think Cisco is the dumb one and you the bright one? Dont get it

I live under the overpass by the 680 in SJ. We often fight it out with the illegals trying to take our patch. We built a small cesspool for sanitation and have an organic garden we maintain.
There are a few of us. We still code. We sharpen our python, R, Go, hive, nifi skills, etc in our tents in between bouts of drinking and OxyContin. Hard for any of us to find jobs even tho we have skills- we got game. We often pick up odd coding jobs for $25 per hour for local businesses who can't afford to hire the kids.
We also take bitcoin.
I am making 50% less. I miss my engineering good pay jobs and friends at the cisco but now I with startup who and have fun! Life much better I'm left. I'm much more vigorous. Time at cisco ken nf of waste except for rsu.

Good for you, most of those left at Cisco are mediocre at best which is reflected by their comments here.
