Should also close the India Centers where productivity is abysmally poor. If at all, QCOM can directly work with Service Companies there.

Does the salary depend on h1b or citizens?

We definitely need H1Bs. Companies know the 'natives' NFW and WFH because of sick kids and pets all too often. Shouldn't need H1Bs but what do you do when truancy rate is so high?

Elections are coming, how about this goes to Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. and see if he send a similar letter to Trump as he did around security concern. This will be is real test to see if he is really working for people!

my .5 cents

H1Bs still issued in the hundreds of thousands. If candidates are well qualified, well okey dokey then. But too many H1B factories and fake resumes. Temp agencies with H1Bs on staff ? Goes on all the time, but aint right.

Q has 1000s on H1Bs but will lay off 1000s citizens and its all legal. That needs to change. No other country would put up with it. Whats the point in border and laws if they are constantly ignored ?

Q goes running to the feds when its in a tight spot looking for help when a foreign company looking to buy it. National security !!

But lay off American employees and continue to employ aliens, oh thats fine. No its not. Change needed.

I’m not opposed to the visa but I would appreciate more simplicity and transparency for the laws and policies. All we seem to hear is the political rhetoric.

Abuse of the visa program will never be corrected because the companies committing the abuse are also contributing to political campaigns.

Take it up with your congress reps; for us in SD, many will have the chance to vote this fall for new members of congress. Do the candidates support thorough review of H1b ? Do they support putting Americans before non-immigrant visa holders when there are layoffs ? Remember, H1B is a GUEST worker program. Some GUESTs appear to have overstayed their welcome and hence this rise of nationalism.

banning individual postings that are racist seems right; but closing out entire threads........overkill and trampling on free speech. Not well informed on the visa stuff; but does make me bit quesey when I see Americans laid off vs Qs use of lots of visas.

Actually those against H1b aren’t necessarily racist as much as they are nationalists or populist.

"mods nuke h1b posts as they turn into a racist back and forth"

Well the racist stuff is entirely off topic and uncalled for............but we can have a reasonable discussion about the abused H1B visas and how larger employers should layoff H1B before any American, regardless of race of visa holder or citizen.

keep it civil and remove race from any discussion - mods nuke h1b posts as they turn into a racist back and forth, if you want to keep this thread keep it civil
