Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Keep Sam's off resume?

I was told to keep Sam's Club off my resume if I want to apply for a job at Costco? Anybody knows if this is true?

I can't figure out why this should be the case. Having worked a similar position should be seen as an asset in my opinion, but now I'm worried and not sure what to do.

Any truth to that and if there is, why?

Costco employee here, of course we hire people from other warehouses. Why would you omit the fact that you have experience. Interview well and they will hire you. We have numerous former Sam's employees that have left their company for the greener pastures of Costco.

I believe Costco doesn't like to hire Supervisors/Leads/Managers is what I've heard. Not saying they wouldn't but that's what I've heard.

What the company needs to do is project pretzel with the hourly associates just like they just did with the management team. This way unhappy associates such as yourself can become set free from your misery.. if Costco is so great, move forward.

Sam's has ruined most employees by there constant mistreatment. Those that once had a good attitude no longer enjoy being there and for the ones that are all motivated that will change as well wait and see. You will soon learn no matter how hard you try and can be one of the best you will still be treated like the ones that totally s---. The company thinks everyone is equal which is a joke what actually happens is the good ones constantly get to fix everything the lazy ones screw up and the the good ones get that big old 2% raise just like the crappy ones. Some gung ho chump will reply to this telling me if I'm not happy then leave well you are the ones I'm talking about that keep the company afloat. Not smart enough to see what the company is really all about and thinking that will never happen to me because I am valuable to the company. In 15 years down the road and your been there awhile and now gotten older and don't want to start over your eyes will be opened.

Costco is far superior than this piece of crap company we work for and they don't want to have to spend so much time trying to get you out of those bad habits the great Sams Club has created.. Just read on the wire where fresh associates have the opportunity to get certified I guess on how to rotate merchandise and they will have an opportunity to get a $7.00 and hour pay increase. Its on the wire so before you start calling me a liar go look on the front page of the wire.

Costco doesn’t like Sam’s club employees. We try not to hire to many as they are typically not very good. Sam’s doesn’t train its employees very well and they are not a good fit for us at Costco.

We have had many associates leave our club and get hired at Costco that very same day.
