I've not seen nor witnessed this so called death spiral at Oracle. What I see is a company that executes like a startup where you make daily decisions to influence the direction the company is headed. Oracle Cloud is at the very front of cloud technology because it's the best out there.
If you want to be cool and impress your friends then tell them you work for Oracle.
Agree with OP that there is no death spiral at Oracle. Just a gradual fading into irrelevance, as existing customers move on to better things or go out of business.

That was probably true 20 years ago, but it's not true now. Oracle has earned a bad reputation and putting it on your resume is NOT going to help you. After all, you work at the "Country Club", so the recruiters say.
