Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Not rumor

Have heard and all offices have heard. Tm even confired tippy is out. Announcement at 11 tomorrow. Who knows. One Can Only Hope That THE Board Has Seen The Light. There has to be a better way than to fu-- over the employees. Had they planned properly a lot of this could have been avoided due to natural attrition and decent notices and offers.

I won't believe it until I see the SOB being marched out by security.

Uh, sorry but the board can vote anyone into the Chairman or CEO position at State Farm regardless of age. The board has to approve any extension request to work beyond age 65 for those with a job title that includes “Vice President” or “President.” In fact, the board did this for Vince Trosino back in the day. MT is out - that’s a fact. Nobody knows what the board has decided beyond that until it’s announced. All else that anyone reads in this thread is pure speculation about a new CEO. Tomorrow, a dark chapter of State Farm will come to an end with MT’s ouster...how soon or if things improve after that is anybody’s guess.

Ed is not coming back. CEOs have to retire at 65, bottom line. Yes, this week was board week but y’all are way too hopeful.

The guy is * . He treats his family like and hr treats all of us like **. Good riddance. I feel bad for his family. I hoe the new president understands that happy employees equals happy customers and can model sf’s customer service after the likes of Apple and Verizon. We are pathetic and definitely not helping life go right for employees or customers.

According to the 2018 Executive Calendar, Board of Director meetings are scheduled this week in the Board Room...is the Board Room in Bloomington?

Hubs detest Tippy. Have watched excellent section managers in mid 50s not given a job offer only to see their job posted.

Hate time cards, micromanagement. Extreme EOM...... why would would we feel differently?

Paul Smith is #2 guy so that would make sense. Paul Smith has family heritage with State Farm as his father was the IL Regional Office Superintendent for years.

Now that Tippy is out. Let's roll up are sleeves and get to work. Start fazing out agents. Have people work from home. Have in house agents for the folks that want one. Why not step out of the dark ages. Have State Farm visible everywhere in all states. Let's have cats and dogs in the office. Allow employees to have laptops and work from home and come into the office occasionally. I'd agree to be on call 24hrs for customers if I could handle the call from home. So much that employees would do if you'd be good to them. Get out in front and be a leader. Other companies are going to a better work life and assigning all their employees laptops. No more calling in sick. Sick - u can work from home. Appt or 4 days a week work from home as long as u do your job and do it well. We as a company are going the opposite direction having folks clock in like we are factory workers. Lol. So funny. Been there 39 years. Always on time and now clocking in. It's not a career anymore it's a factory line job. Please wake up and be a leader in the industry and treat employees as the professionals they are.

Is the rumor Ed is coming back wishful thinking or is there actual evidence of this?

Why would the hubs be excited about Tipsord leaving? Their jobs aren't in jeporady.

Who is this TM that confirmed Tipsord is out?

Much of this seems to be conjecture.

I hope it's true. Praying for us all. It's not just a job and easy to say move on. It's our lives. Our time, work, sweet and devotion to this company. It's our lively hood and that's just not easily replaced. Employees are always what makes a company great. Happy employees make happy customers. If the company takes good care of the employees the employees take good care of the customers. Common sense. If employees have no job security and always feel as if their job is in jeopardy or their office is closing - well that's is the desaster we are in. If there is no loyalty to employees - well that's a two way street.

My magic 8-ball said “reply hazy try again”. I think that means it’s only true if Ed comes to work tomorrow and doesn’t see his shadow. If not, it’s 6 more weeks of MT.
