Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Ya'll Been Punked

Tipsord is making the hard decisions that should have been made 20 yrs ago. His courage is going to save SF and Blono. The bull___ that's been out here this week PROOVES these are the right decisions. Theres too much dead weight, atrium walkers, smoke breakers and people sitting around random tables doing NOTHING - but feel theyre entitled to a career because "my feelings are hurt."

Where's that 10am memo? The 11am memo? Yeah. Didn't think so. You've all been played for fools and exposed as the kind if people who should have been gone long ago.

So stupid. I hate the Kool aid drinkers. The only "dead weight" at the farm is in mgmt and above. We Indians are doing the work but have way too many cheifs. My paticular Mgr prides himself on making 6 figures while not doing shi- . Mgmt level and above I can see the dead weight. I couldn't even tell you the name of the person over our tm. Nor do I care. I find it funny that Sf is getting rid folks and we have mgmt bragging about how they make 6 figures and don't so sh--. Gotta laugh at the ignorance.

If the company is turning around, why is it losing policyholders exponentially? Because they dismiss their internal customers! dumb--sES!

I came from a highly efficient non customer centrist Insurance Company to the Farm. I loved the way that SF treated clients, agents and partners. While there is a lot to be said about efficiency and treating people fairly. The hardest thing to do is to strike a balance that most of both can be achieved. Becoming leaner but not meaner. Becoming nimble while still re purposing talent that has been cultivated by the TC over time. There are no easy answers to these challenges, MT did kinda of inherit many problems from the past and now has the fun job of taking all the heat ER has a hand in the place we are now. We all know nothing gets fixed here in 2 years.

Not everyone getting laid off are as you say are “atrium walkers, smoke breakers or people sitting around doing nothing”. Some of us used to feel proud to work for State Farm. This company was a great place to work. Ever since Mike Tipsford took over, the employees have been micro managed to within an inch of their lives. The Farmer From Myrna is spinning in his grave I’d bet with what has happened to his once great company.

@NoWonderYoureBeingFired IF these changes were needed for so long, why haven't YOU implemented them in the past? Obviously, you've got some special insight that the majority here don't, to know that cutting 38% of the claims personnel is a necessary reduction and has been for 25 years.

Here's a thought for Mikey and his ilk, if they really believe there are people that are not earning their keep, perhaps those people should be let go as opposed to a blanket number of people across the enterprise. It's called responsibility.

1zh. He's "saving" SF because these are changes that should have happened over the past 25 years. Now we have to take our medicine all at once and people feel entitled to a career no matter what it costs the company. Yeah it s---s. But glad mt has the courage to make the tough decisions so SF can get with the times and be profitable to keep the rest of us who don't surf the net all day, walk the atrium every hour and a smoke break.

@NoWonderYoureBeingFired: I wonder what type of sad existence you lead to come with such vitriol to people who are concerned about their future. You're poor spelling and lack of grammar indicate an uneducated individual with (rather obvious) jealousy issues. I suggest, if you are lucky enough to remain employed, that you consider counseling to get past your hatred and understand most people just want to live life happily.

Oh, in the meantime, you may want to get off your knees from under the desk. Just saying.....

If Tipsord was going to"save" State Farm why has the company been struggling since he took over?

Lol getting rid of boomers will “turn this company around”? Well I guess technically that is right because we were number one when they were most of the employees, now we are headed down.

Bigotry by the younger generations will not improve their situations.

Well this is likely just a flame bait post, but it is ignorant both of what has happened at State Farm recently and in general. The claims staff, you know the folks who actually deliver the product, have had their ranks slashed and more experienced folks were specifically targeted for termination. As a result many younger folks have bailed because they know that could happen to them if they stick around. The results are the greatest proof of what a boondoggle this new plan is, massive policy losses, massive underwriting losses, and atrocious employee morale.

90% of the troll posts are from the same guy. He's clearly a nut job. Just ignore him and try to focus on threads that actually provide something of interest to you.

I love people who use the excuse "I'm not an idiot, I write poorly to disguise my brilliant prose that my superiors would obviously recognize. Since I'm such a genius."

Actually, hva. I spell for a living. Sometimes it takes a little "improvisation" to disguise a writing style so my superiors can't identify my writing. I will say, however, your willingness to believe an offshore spam firm is responsible for my comments leads me also to believe you think Russian bots elected our president, which means you fall for bull___ a lot.

Either way...you got played.

Offshore spam firm on behalf of whom exactly? Nice try. Tipsord isn't perfect but every baby boomer we lose helps turn this company around.
