Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

fresh

I understand that the focus is on fresh. I get that. But to pretty much be told that the floor is not important infuriates me. Now to find out that they are hiring even more people for fresh areas and they will have the possibility to earn 40 - 60% more in hourly pay??!!! (after they complete the 18 month certification) Are you freaking kidding me? I'm sure there may be some of "their" loop holes that won't allow such a huge raise but......who knows with the way things are being ran....it's possible. I for one am a 24 yr. experienced associate that only received Exceeds Expectations in the years past to only now receive a mere 2% like the average (or below) joe. It's a slap in the face. And now there poses threats that if plus or credit isn't produced by associates there will be write ups coming. Just awesome is all I can say. And do you think that fresh departments have to do this as well? Heck no they don't. I guess they are to good to actually get upgraded members or credit. I just sit here and shake my head at the company that was once great to work for.

I wouldn't have an issue with it if the fresh associates did anything....anything in the club to help. Meanwhile you have associates doing 4 or 5 jobs that are not theirs to help out the club.

Fresh is not hard, they barely deal with members, meanwhile front end associates have to deal with a sh-- storm on the daily all while being "spoken" to about not pushing credit/plus.

Most fresh associates will make a small $.50 extra... A handful will make an extra $2. And barely any will actually make the $7.

If you don’t see the importance of fresh in clubs (just look what happened to Toys R Us) you clearly don’t understand the business. Amazon is taking over most brick and mortar businesses besides groceries stores...

YES! 40-60%. It's been said that a fresh associate could potentially make up $70,000! Crazy right? I would be willing to bet that there is something about the 18 month course of certification that may not allow an associate to get the huge increase as expected. But who knows with this company. And who all is considered fresh associates? Is café? produce? meat/bakery wrapper, baker? What is it about these positions that make their job a skill? A cutter, yes. A cake decorator, yes (but now most things come in already decorated)

Hey @SdyVMBd-1zqu Go ask both of your new fresh managers how much money their associates have the possibility of making. Watch how quick they know the answers because hourlies will be making more than either manager. Go ask.

40-60% ? You sure it’s not 40-60 CENTS?

Think about it. Does that even sound logical? That would mean an hourly non supervisor would potentially make more than a manager

I will continue to work and do the best that i can. I was raised that way. Unlike the generation that is being hired. I would just like to be rewarded for MY work and get what I deserve. Treat your employees equal but show gratitude on THEIR performance. You will get more quality associates that way!
