Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How many clubs still have a receiving dock associate during the day? I’ve heard some do and some don’t.

I am the lead and have a dock associate. We haven't had a clerk for almost 5 years.

TL and clerk for us as well. Both full time. TL and clerk get along great. I've been in 2 other clubs and haven't seen that. Usually clerk stays in the office and never comes on the dock. Clerk does everything the TL does. Thank goodness too, our club would be screwed. Most of our associates are new and young. Both are a bad combo! Bet Sam's love that! Young and dumb ready to brainwash.

At our club there is a team lead and a clerk. He's helpful and always pitching in when we are short staffed or need overnight assistence. very fast paced and good at what he does. She has been a clerk for 19 or 20 years and should have been fired 18 years ago. Doesn't do anything but the required minimums. not forklift certified and refuses to learn. Won't even help with FedX or donations. She'll walk around a dock full of consolidated freight instead of moving it or sorting it for someone else to stock.. I've seen her pull a pallet jack a handful of times. That's when we know the receiving lead is on vacation. She's praying for severance. I'm praying we get to finally see her with a vest on out on the floor. I bet she doesn't even know how to sign on to the handheld. She may be knowledgeable but never wants to help others. must feel threatened. Hope she doesn't think floor partners have forgotten how mean she was to them when it is finally her turn to ask for help. I've worked in two clubs and one walmart. worked with some great people but she is the worst.

TL and clerk at my club. Clerk is always helping managers and on the dock and on a lift! TL is worthless mean and rude. They really should eliminate both positions, and managers need to choose the best one to stay and do it all.

Only a TL and Clerk in my club. Both stay busy all the time on the dock, in the office, and throughout the club. We are a day receiving club though.

We do, she does a lot of work on floor, though. It's rare that they are both receiving. Mostly needed to cover vacay.

We don't. Team Lead and Invoicing do everything. It's been this way for us for years.
