Ruining our health

I just realized how much this whole situation is affecting my health. I have been having trouble sleeping for weeks now. Hell, it's Saturday morning and I'm up at the crack of dawn.

My blood pressure is now consistently high and I never had issues with it before.

The worse part is, I doubt much will change once the whole situation is resolved and we know where we stand.

Is this our new normal?

EEOC claim mailed in re age discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, etc. I decided to speak up about unethical and probably illegal treatment I experienced.

Encouraging all experiencing discrimination to file EEOC claim.

You can set up in their system and get an appointment that is months away to then file your claim and or mail in your claim request per their website. EEOC is federal government and in many states your filed claim with EEOC also handle state investigation.

They will review and determine if they will investigate and if they do they will interview employees and request documents and seek remedial corrections, etc.

Good Luck. Hope your health is better.

Every evening I ask my spouse, or the latest 5,400 technical positions waiting for an answer... any news, any gossip even?? I’m so glad I found this post. I don’t feel like we can make any decisions not knowing if we will be selling our house any day to relocate, or finding him out of work.

Yes! stress is horrible for us all

There has been an been an increase in stress related health issues in Tacoma since the closure was announced here. Multiple people have gone on meds for anxiety and blood pressure. Many of us are trying to leave but haven't been able to get jobs yet.

Don’t forget about free services available through Lifeworks that may help. Employees get up to 6 counseling sessions at no charge and they also offer free health coaching by phone. It’s confidential so might as well use it while it’s available...

Join a gym, hire a personal trainer, walk in the evenings, go hike,.... but do something physical. It helps tremendously.

U might consider seeing your dr for an anti depressant if you feel immobilized and / experiencing high anxiety.

Take care of you...

I like the Wild Turkey idea as this whole situation is also causing me many restless nights and fingernail biting.

Not to be disrespectful, but if you hate your job, metrics, bosses, etc., look for another job or a change careers. That’s the beauty of the freedom we all have in this country, take advantage of it!

I’m thinking of going into teaching, not for the money, obviously, but it would be something I would enjoy and I need the medical benefits.

Good luck to all and don’t let a crummy job ruin your life, do something about it!

1.75 bottle of wild turkey is about 40 bucks plus tax. I get about 2 weeks out of it.

Moving into the new world ruined my health. I think I developed gastrointestinal issues I never had before. Thank God I’m out and work at a place where work life balance is a think and you aren’t micromanaged and scrutinized on every little thing. One of the reasons I didn’t take a CAT job was because I was worried I’d never get out.

I'm in Proximity also and haven't had a decent night of sleep in 3 yrs. I'm 51 and looking to get out and find something else. The stress of meeting metrics, new monthly reviews, getting work piled on has just gotten to be too much.

Op - don't know where you are but if you are Proximity then yes, this is the new normal. My area is going down in people and of course there is no mention of taking any work away, which means I will be doing the work of more people yet again. This has been a trend for all of the past reorgs. They claim that work is being moved inside and yet, I end up having to inspect more after each re-org. The upshot is that you should be getting a fair amount of overtime to cover the co-pays for all the meds you will need to take due to the stress and wear/tear on your body...
