EEO REP

Has anyone had dealings with an Equal Employment Opportunity EEO Employee Consultant from Verizon Wireless? If so, how did it go? Do you think you were heard? Did he or she accomplish what you wanted?

OP: Well, keep me posted about how it goes. In my case they did contact my boss and manager. Kind of gave them a heads up about my complaint. They both acted as though it was the first time they heard about it and in the end they said it was all a simple misunderstanding. When I told them I was going to the real EEOC then our little misunderstanding went away.

Same. The guy I talked to seemed really “genuine” and shocked at the way I was treated. He did ask for names. And was adamant about me giving more info if anything came to mind after our phone call.

OP: One more thing I can tell you from a past experience. The company rep seemed to be on my side and very helpful. After a while they became harder to reach. They never contacted anyone I had put down as witnesses. Then I got an email (no phone call) that they felt my case had no merit. That was the extent of their "help." Long story short: I got my issue resolved no thanks to them.

It's not too late to contact EEOC. Contacting the company EEO doesn't forfeit your right to contact anyone you want. I think contacting the company EEO only shows you were trying to resolve your issue however you could. If you have already called an attorney then you might as well see what they say when they call you back, they would have better knowledge than anyone on here.

Darn it. What if I already talked to the EEO rep for Verizon. He called me got my side kf things and now Im waiting.

Is it too late to go the EEOC?

I also reached out to an attorney online after I hung up with the EEO rep from Verizon. The attorney emailed me back and said she would contact me Monday. She doesnt work on weekends I guess.

Please no bashing or fake answers. This is very serious to me. Thanks in advance.

Never use the company EEO. As soon as you hang up they call your management team. I have seen the gov't EEOC put the companys nuts in a vice. This i recommend.

@inn- Are you saying there might be a class action lawsuit against VZ? I hope that's true.

do not go through vzw. reach out directly to the eeoc office in your city and/or state. there is a multistate effort regarding age and disability in the formative stages against vz with the eeoc. the agent you get will be able to pull this information. it is easier and cheaper for the eeoc to pursue this as one case with multiple litigants.

As one who has danced with the EEOC and the ensuing court case I assure you that none of the sh-- they're pulling with all this bloodshed compares to the life you trade going through the federal court system. Beast to let those hard-to-reach chips go.
