Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Be nice and respectable

PJ attempted to save the company and sure he also had good intentions for the employees. Dont think he was for the layoffs and/or let the company taken over. Its not easy to build or run maga multi billion tech company such as Qualcomm. Obviously, his family must have sacrificed a lot when the company was still being built. If his family enjoyed the fruits, so be it. Nothing wrong with that. He was gentleman enough to step down.

Understand all of us make mistakes, some big and some small. Mistakes can take anyone down and it happened this time around. He might have been too good to the management and assume he trusted them way too much, till Sh-- the fan. They took him for a ride and that's my guess.

More than PJ stepping down, I would have appreciated to see SM and others step down before him! They need to be kicked out right away and escorted out.

As an outsider, I watched the rise and fall of this great company. I know plenty may may like and/or may not like him, but lets be respectable.

Best wishes to PJ and IJ.

Well I am thankful our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has given us PJ to be our business and spiritual leader. How amazing is Jesus to anoint PJ?

Thank you Jesus for providing good Christian leadership through your loyal servant Paul Jacobs!

Paul is corrupt, morally bankrupt, and abused Qualcomm resources to support his bad behavior. You are either to stupid to know these facts or have been living in a fallout shelter for the last 10 years.

His d--k is what guides his behavior. He does not care about Qualcomm employees. His motivation is nothing more than greed and lust.

Good intentions don't count for anything except reduced guilt on Yom Kippur.

Lots of nice gals and guys out there with good intentions are not qualified to lead an organization like the Q. Paul was never deserving of any of his promotions above Sr. Engineer, not when compared against the people that were passed over in his favor. Shame on family #1. Other prominent families in this organization showed no such nepotism.

I totally agree with @1zwq. Paul doesn't deserve anything except our scorn.

I think he has good intention ..and may have sensed some other takeover bid from a US company this time. Anyone who buys QC, will do so to chop it off in to pieces. Shareholders want to see capital growth, it will be employies who'll suffer. Not all geographical location can absorb so many engineers

True, but he also led the company during several years and an amazing growth. He would have been terminated earlier by shareholders, has he not delivered.

PJ didn't run Qualcomm because he worked for it, or because he was the best man for the job.

His daddy gave him the job, and he was out of his league the whole time.

PJ hasn't earned respect, and doesn't deserve anything but scorn.

Totally agree. PJ was still treating employees decently as a CEO. It wasnt as amazing as the long gone days, but way better than the recent years when he's no longer there. Since GD showed up, we started seeing massive layoffs, budget cuts, bonuses and stocks shrink, projects geoshifting to other countries, healthcare hit and so on, all while the company still making good bucks. Surely, revenues shrinked a bit due to the recent events, but all the savings achieved by those measures are just peanuts.

Can't know for sure, but everyone on the executive team supported the scheme, PJ, SM, DA, CA, Murthy, you name em. They all had a hand in this, but my guts tells me GD was the mastermind and PJ was the last one interested to drive this policy.

I Wish PJ best of luck going forward and who knows, he might turn out to be back again. Jobs did it and prooved its possible, PJ might too.

Completely agree respect him.... All employees are so mean just thinking of thiselves their own fate, guys show some respect for Jacob's who created a platform for us to work and innovation... Actually entire San Diego state is given work because of qualcomm having shareholders who are ready to sell just got more money is shameful...

If PJ intended to buy a company with his money u should understand how well intentioned he is and how much the company means to him

I would love it if we do end up a private company. An innovation company shouldn't be a shareholder puppet.

And not forgetting, they do a lot of work/support for the community. How many of us do anything for the community ?

Well said. The Jacobs were supporting R&D and taking risks. SM and his hard nosed operation guys just the opposite slowly bleeding the life out of the company. Get PJ back to do something useful with the cash.
