Same thing happened in our store last year. We went from 40 to 30, had our personal time cut, had vacation cut but we got sick leave. Still lost 30 hours of vacation and personal leave. They are doing it in stages. It is coming to a store near you.

It's gone in the sense of new hires, which still isn't a good thing.
No it isn't gone! I am still a 40 hour. A lot of people were downgraded to 30 full time but I kept my my 40 full time I'm assuming because I've been with the company many years.
Our store had a half dozen FT40 grandfathered associates including leads that were all downgraded to FT30 this year....They were told that FT40 status is gone from company.....Some of these associates have since quit the company.
I am a FT40 grandfathered status associate and was not downgraded when I went from salary to hourly.
We have 2 FT40 Grandfathered status employees in our Sears store and they were not downgraded to FT30 status. They maintained their FT40 Grandfather status. It must be a store by store issue.
Yes. The 40hr "full time" work week is gone, and it is because of a 2009 law in the United States that is officially named "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act". There is a provision in the bill that states that 30 hours is now considered as being "full time". Anything below 30 hours is now considered as part time.
FT40 Grandfathered associates were downgraded to FT30 status at the end of January 2018......so they effectively had their salary cut by up to 25% by losing up to 10 hours per week out of 40.
FT40 has been gone for a long time with rare people and positions that were grandfathered in.
Yep, gone. No more full time 40. We also lost some of our vacation hours.
