Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Systems bloated

What would have been nice is if the executives hadn't bloated systems with people who didn't belong here and who, by and large, thought they were being good soldiers for cooperating. What would have been nice is if the executives responsible for CDE were canned.

Seriously, who can take this new re-organization seriously with the CDE execs still leading the charge?

The last billion dollar debacle didn't work, so let's go do something else totally half-assed.

Bumped for being 100% correct. As another poster said all we did is $pend $ystems $pend

I left State Farm many years ago due to the fact THERE WAS NO WORK TO DO. I was told by a Manager that "we will keep hiring until they tell us to stop." An entire department of people sitting around doing nothing. Made for VERY long days. Took another offer and got out of there. Sounds like it was the best decision I ever made.

Who are Dunning & Kruger?

It's an "effect" often cited by people who want to dismiss an argument on the internet without engaging in any meaningful debate. It's a pseudo-intellectual way of saying, "you're too stupid to know you're wrong."

This is the natural result of the great manager migration about 17 years ago.... there was a bloat of corporate managers and a ton of new DP "systems" work/employee's. Move business managers over to systems wait 15-20 years and this is what happens.

Agreed. The company should have had the guts to terminate these managers then instead of putting them in an area where they did not belong.
