Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What's my rights?

Question for this group. For example if you put in your availability that you are unable to work on Sundays can management force you to come in for a mandatory meeting? And if you don't show up do they have the right to coach you even though you filled out the form for availability that you can't work Sundays?

You do not have to come in if your not available, but it’s probably worth your time to come in. I tell my folks pick and choose your battles, is it really worth the drama for one shift.

Maybe don't be a baby and come in for the meeting.

You have the right to work your assigned schedule or go find a job elsewhere.

Are you full time? I just had conversations with all my full timers. Full timers must have open availability or you will be cut in hours to part time. End of discussion.

If your full time and you don't have open availability and you had you could not work on a Sunday you would be scheduled for 32 hours max. If you wanted 40 hours you would have to open you availability. As others posted you may want to zip the lip and come in this one time. If its mandatory its probably important because of what its going to do to payroll. All those hours will have to be cut somehow.

When you fill out an availability form it clearly states that it is not a gaurantee of hours. The way the company is right now, I personally wouldn’t be pissing everyone off over 1 stinking day. But you do you.

show some leniency to your schedule for this and maybe someone will be lenient to you when you need it.
