Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

more job cuts! Mobile Checkout and Virtual Reality Furniture!

More ways of getting rid of associates. So happy I got fired. I don't want to be a part of that shipwreck.

Yes, the furniture sales are so important to them that they laid off the furniture

Managers. Now the stores are a free for all. No guidance given that is decent. Good luck!

Well kudos to them for trying to be innovative with the furniture. Now that being said Macy's cannot compete in the southeast in the furniture market. They need to be realistic about their competition here. One of the biggest drawbacks Macy's has is the lack of recognized home furniture brands and customers in the south want products manufactured in the south. NC is the furniture market capital of the world and furniture ships tax free if it is manufactured there. The "created for Macy's" furniture consists of cheap imports that can really only compare to Wayfair. For the home furnishings category they are really going to have to up their game with the product line. Decent product lines are not going to want to be associated with gimmicky sales tactics.
