This is correct I’ve worked in fresh it’s a very difficult job. I’ve also worked on floor and fronted each department has it’s challenges, there is no area that is less important than the other. The CEO’s are dividing and pitting is against one another sad 😢😢😢

Paying fresh more money will not mean sh-- if you can’t get the members through the lines. I get that fresh is the focus area of the year, but without cashiers, shopping carts, floor associates and even maintenance there would be no fresh. How are they gonna justify who get more money, it’s almost like they want union in these clubs.

I do think its that easy!! And anyone can do your job anyone!! And your in a sh--ty club cause we have men that work in the bakery, and we've had people come to the meat dept, maybe with them wanting experience cutters they'll start you off as a wrapper. And we to can kill people if we dont follow sanitation guidelines. Have you heard of foodborne illnesses? Face it every other retailer you go to cutters get premium pay. It's the way it is Sam's has finally seem the light.

First floor is more than just pushing a pallet jack. If you think slotting freight is so easy id ask that you talk to your night crew and let them tell you about how that is when the steel is full and you get in a load of paper, water and 2 dc trucks. Most backrooms are full and there's a reason for that but when they come to visit they ignore that. As for going to the meat dept we are told if you don't have experience don't bother applying and when I acquired about going to bakery I was laughed at because I am a man and was asked how many men have I seen working in a bakery. Told them I didn't care and wanted to learn something new but no chance in hell Ill ever get to go to either. Been with the company for over 25 years and worked every area on the floor, receiving, tbc, nightcrew and front end. All areas has something that was a pain in the arse but I don't consider one more important than the other other than TBC and slotting freight. If you don't do your job correctly in those two areas you could cause someone to get injured or worse killed. Tire falling off while driving or pallets falling out of the steel and hitting a member should be of concern for the company but I guess not. They don't seem to find that important but our members will have nice evenly cut meat with a lovely presentation.

And what will you superior fresh associates do when they start shopping the meat in precut ? all you will have to do is take it out of the wrap. Don't count you chickens before they hatch. You could be next on the displaced list.

I agree you don’t even know what hell is until you work on the front end. When you f--- up a cake or don’t have product who do you think they yell at, not you behind the case are glass window!

All these "fresh is hard" posts in here make me laugh. I've worked floor, front end, produce and now meat. Being in here is like being on a vacation. You do not know hell until you've worked on the front end/floor. Being out there, especially on the floor, you are called apon to do everything. Being in here, I cut my meat, answer member questions, keep my case stocked/clean and that's about it. If you listen to some of these other fresh associates in here it's as if you need a Master's degree to work in fresh haha.

Don't get me wrong, the extra pay for being part of meat is great and the new potential "raises" are incredible. But please fellow fresh associates, stop posting that our jobs are hard compared to other positions in the club. Go be an MSS for the day and you'll realize how good we have it.

First, 15 an hour is only 30 grand a year. You can’t live on that. Second nobody is going to unionize. Duh.

LMAO, anyone can work on the floor, it's mindless work!! Bring pallet to floor slot it and repeat, really hard I'd say minimum wage work. Come back to the meat dept and see what real work is!! Nonhow to process meat, how to help members plan there party, you know how much meat a member should buy if there having 30 people? Can you give cooking instruction? What's the internal cooking temp for beef, pork, chicken? What is the temp danger zone? We have to deal with state inspections, cross contamination, putting delievers away and make sure everything is rotated correctly. You floor people have no clue what work is. You want to make more money apply to the meat dept....

Hmm you could be a basic cashier that takes 0 skill or a floor associate that any warm body could do. Or you could work a skilled position like a meat cutter or decorator and get paid higher...

It’s like when people want $15 a hour to work PT at McDonalds instead of doing something that actually takes skill...

Rather do less work for more money instead of having to work harder for more money.
