So we’ve been hearing that “changes” to optical will be announced in April, has anyone heard any leaks about what they may be? Just curious if anyone’s MM has let anything slip they shouldn’t have.

I have worked at both a corporate optical and NAtional Vision and its night and day. If NVI takes over you will be very happy.
Agreed! I hate those Probe sheets with a passion and feel like they make my customers second guess my abilities or my knowledge of what I’m doing or talking about. I usually fill them out after the customer leaves. We usually cover everything on the sheet in conversation but I’m not going to ask them questions and make them feel like I’m trying to know their whole life story. Lol. Some of the questions are just crazy any way! And I thought we were going paperless as a company?? I shred more crap that we have to fill out weekly and daily it’s rediculous! It’s bad when you can’t even discuss lens options or bad jobs you’ve gotten from the lab with your MM because he’s a pharmacist and has no clue what you’re referring to! Frustrating in the least!
OMG! I couldn’t agree with you more! I feel like we’re checklisted, probe sheeted and everything else to death! And why is it every conference call deals with pharmacy more than optical. Ugh....
Upper management has no idea what operating an optical really entails. When people who run the business, don't know the business, this is what happens. PROBE forms, this check list and that check list are just are just a waste of time. When optical got out of the hands of true optical professionals and into pharmacist dm's optical always played second fiddle to the pharmacy.
Only thing I've gotten out of anyone was market realignment again. Not a peep on anything else.
