Why Apple May Use Intel Chips Exclusively in Future iPhones

Qualcomm could be excluded from upcoming iPhones
Apple (AAPL) may be using wireless chips from Intel (INTC) exclusively in its iPhone models to be released this year, according to a 9to5Mac report citing a research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. Since iPhone 7, which came out in September 2016, Apple has been obtaining wireless or cellular chips for iPhones from both Intel and Qualcomm (QCOM).
At some point last year, a research note from KGI claimed that Apple would still keep Qualcomm as a wireless chip supplier but would give most of the orders to Intel, with Qualcomm only getting 30% of the orders. But it now seems Qualcomm could be excluded from the 2018 iPhones.
