WFR and volontary leave

maybe most of us dont wanna be laid off but someones would apreciate the package :) . is there any program for volontary leaves? what's the WFR (workforcereduction) and how does it work ? i was told that the managers put the names of those they'd like to fire when the WFR program is released or somethin like that.

I think the ship has already sailed on voluntary leave last year. Before it was paid for out of a corporate budget but now its out of the line of business which no director or VP wants to sacrifice. WFR is basically cutting the fat (overpaid) or getting rid of the bottom performers. Having been in in those discussions they are never easy and the two comments mentioned above are sometimes not even a factor. I have seen cases though where depending on the relationship with the manager they will help you out but then again it can work against you. Always a risk

taking bonus WFR and back with a promotion is what makes Dell so great, people come here to make money not do great work. Everyone should do it.

those who appreciate the packages, what i have seen, if you make a deal with the manager, he will put you in WFR and later he will be back in to same team with a promotion(or hired back to his friends team),

WFR seems to be like a paid vacation for most asses.

everything is a joke in dell. products as well people, those unfortunate ones will be kicked out without any traces even without part of WFR, he will be send to heaven using a special in house program called PIP.

No loyalty at Dell. They wine and dine you and later toss you out like an old pair of shoes.

usually it will be a request from corporate to nominate a fixed amount of people. Then the manager, being the person in charge and who literally owns the roles of these people, will choose who he can do without. Nothing wrong here.
