We'll find out when the plant manager make the official announcement. Ignore the rumors; prepare a resume an get an idea of what other jobs are out there so you'll be ready when the layoffs happen.
Any T-rate who considered this a lifetime job is a fool. Non skilled trades should have taken advantage of the tuition reimbursement to get some marketable skills as soon as they were eligible. I'm union and have no sympathy for my union "brothers" who buried their heads in the sand and did nothing to prepare for what's coming.
if you have 5 years or less here id be worried other then that you should be ok .
