Its a shyster move anyway. Eddie is the biggest debtor and the biggest shareholder. Just a shell game to make the books look good. Eddie might own all the seats but one day soon in this game of musical chairs he's going to be left without a seat.

@wwa - Apparently you don't understand the concept of sarcasm! The "pathetic troll" reference should have made that obvious to you; the comment was directed at the troll. Here is the definition sarcasm.

noun

harsh or bitter derision or irony.

a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark:

a review full of sarcasms.

Stockholders now have stock that has been diluted to almost nothing, but i guess it is better than the nothing they will soon have.

This has to be fake news since there is a pathetic troll on this site posting "Credit UPGRADE coming soon!"

Lol. Fake news? I linked the article. Its from a reputable source, Fox News. Read the article. The only thing thats fake is whoever is claiming its fake news. lol. Read it for yourself folks.

@SknOJ2j-xoh sounds like a bag holder common stock owner.

From the Article:

“As previously indicated, we believe these transactions constitute a distressed exchange, including the potential to receive non-cash interest,” S&P said in a news release on Thursday.

Basically in my opinion Sears would have been unable to pay the debt. Sears offered worthless stock instead of paying the debt. So the debt holders chose to take the stock instead of getting nothing. So Sears will print shares of stock like the government prints money. Shares of the stock will be worth less like the dollar is worth less and less every year. So now the asset sales can continue to fund the transition to an asset light company. The whole process is really quite masterful, fascinating to watch.
