Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Can it still happen?

This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if Broadcom can once again make a move on Qualcomm once it is done with incorporating in the US?

If I'm not mistaken, that'll clear the main hurdle the company had in acquiring us, so what's to stop them from trying again once it is removed?

What makes it a stupid question is that you have not read the presidential order. It is obvious.

Setting aside the Presidential order for a minute because it could be challenged in court, the opportunity to take over the board and force a sale is over for the next year. I think as Hock looks back at what transpired, he will regret starting with the silly $70 number and then doing the $82/79 dance. $85 probably could have bought the company or at most $90. His famous stinginess cost him this time. Not only was it a waste of time and money trying to do the deal, but Hock also lost a little bit of his luster as a guy that always gets his way. It also exposed Broadcom as a paper tiger with solid results now, but big hurtles in the future. Many of those hurtles come as future lost market share to Qualcomm.
