There’ll be more layoffs for Calgary office staff once the Deep Basin assets are divested.
This, for those who believe we are out of the woods, don't get too comfortable just yet. We are looking at at least one more sizable round of layoffs. Maybe not in the following few months, but certainly by the end of the year.
Numbers won’t be that large. Most field staff and some office staff will go with the assets. 100-200 most likely.
Don't be naive. Layoffs will occur at all levels - The timing will be dependant on transition / stability needs. That said, the T&C's of the sale agreement will probably dictate the outcome: retain, layoff, temporary assignment, repost of position, etc... Please bring your seat up to the fully upright and locked position...
Keep dreaming, it will be a good chunk.
Whoever buys the assets will take the field staff and may even take some of the office staff. Layoff numbers won’t be that large.
