Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

More layoffs next week?

What are the chances we'll be having more layoffs next week? People have been talking in the office about several locations being hit with small scale layoffs in the past several weeks, one each week.

It looks like Honeywell is determined to implement these surgical cuts that will go unnoticed by media and most of the employees.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I won't be surprised if we hear about something else being hit next week.

There will be continued layoffs regardless of performance for all US based employees. Dairyass and the board do NOT want you here. You are merely a drain on the revenue and a danger to shareholder value. If you are not currently employed in a high growth region, then you are on borrowed time. There are teams of people working in shifts to identify and action US reductions for movement to "high growth regions".

Just do what I did. Take all your personal possessions like pictures, trinkets, etc home and leave ONLY HON property. I do not bring my laptop home either, because of face to face collaboration requirements. This way, when I get RIFd so the company can "make the quarter" I simply hand them my badge and phone and I walk out Scott free. No box of shame, just get up, tell them thank you and leave.

Does the sun rise every morning? Of course there will be layoffs next week and the week after and the week after that. This is not any ethical company. Should be a fun shareholders meeting in a few weeks watching the spin. Newsflash, you can't cut your way to growth, but that is the faulty premise this company follows.

Surgical cuts would mean that there's a plan in place, to actually heal or improve things. Honeywell as of late doesn't have a plan in place, besides short term apparent bottom-line improvements, which in a few quarters will hit their Excel sheet management in a bad way... when key projects face mayor delays or cancellations.

Because WARN act does not apply to small reductions.

Apparently it doesn't matter that a bunch of small ones over several months = more than one large one.

It will continue and you are right about keeping it from employees and out of the media. New strategy after all the information leaks.
