I hate that commercial. Hilarious that it makes it look like a woman will risk being run over by a car for some damn clothes.

@SqmFti9-agrf , tax cuts in Dec don't fix everything that's been wrong for years overnight. Maybe if the previous administration had cared enough to help companies succeed years ago we might now see the layoffs we've had these past few years, especially this one. And poor decisions have been made at Macy's for years that have hurt the company line, with or without tax cuts. It's a big bubble getting ready to burst and this is the company's last chance to fix things. Tax cuts will help but you don't just dole it out on the spot like a bandaid, and they are for 2018, not 2017. Co. has to be strategic and make the most of this savings. This new incentive is a good start in helping ensure each person employed is part of the solution.

Does anyone know the bonuses for the Store Managers and the District Teams? Seems like they want us to reach these Numbers really bad. Can't be just for us bet their bonus is more than a few hundred dollars like ours. Please share

All those layoff workers, worked hard to help achieve that Q4.

Macy’s in turn said thanks, now get the F out.

The Tax incentive was suppose to help stabilize businesses and give opportunities for growth and employment.

Not to be placed in the pockets of investors.

That is truly the Magic of Macy’s, blood money at the continued expense of their employees.

The company is flush with cash, had a good 4th quarter, and the incredible tax gift from Congress, and forged ahead with layoffs. Investors work hard for their money, have to take care of them first.

If you work in a Union store you are NOT eligible to receive the bonus!

The one post is referencing the quarterly bonus that EVERYONE is eligible for, even if you work minimum hours. The amount of bonus depends on if your store makes sales plan (both in store sales and fulfillment)

While I agree with the last post, I have to comment that it has not always been this way. They used to contribute towards pension funds. They stopped this in 2016. There is an art to combining value to customers and employees. This goes hand in hand for a successful business. Shareholders are to blame for the drastic change, and the current senior management. Nothing will change this direction until employees do what Walmart employers did. Go public with your voice. They can do fireworks , parades, flower shows, etc. Step up for your hard working employees!

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4146031-macys-likely-using-tax-cash-debt-stock-remain-challenged

More than 300 companies and counting have declared additional employee bonuses following the 2018 tax reform law. Included are large companies such as AT&T (T), Lowe's (LOW), Comcast (CMCSA) and Disney (DIS).

Giving extra money to its employees is the least likely scenario for Macy's. Although this is a company which prides itself on the diversity of its employees, diversity to benefit the company image is not the same as acting to financially benefit employees. Macy's is known for its exceptionally low pay and high employee turnover. Virtually every company gives lip-service to how valuable its employees are -- what else can they say? -- but no one ever confuses Macy's as one of the best places to work with leading edge pay.

The new CEO, Jeff Gennette, who has been in his position for less than a year, outlined his North Star Strategy for what is important to him, and thus the company, for generating a financial turnaround. Noticeably absent from the North Star strategic plan is any focus on employees. There is nothing about making employees work or careers better or improving their lives.

What was said in Vegas? Did they brag about saving so much money with lay offs? Remember as well the big tax breaks they get now. Where is that money going? Anyone have a guess?

Who did JG not fire that could still be "gotten"? Perhaps Hal will fire senior management that he did not personally hire. And that Vegas magic show given firings, condition of stores etc. was beyond bad taste.
