Where were today's layoffs?
There's been some talk about an upcoming round of middle management layoffs. Any updates on when that is scheduled?
Yes more layoffs today. Check out the business news. Normally IBM will do RAs on Thursday but it looks like they are on a roll. Cutting deep.
IBM started with layoffs each year then moved to a 6 month and now each quarter. Unless the executives are now changing to a monthly review, each quarter was being used. I would see severance pakages going away , just flat out layoffs which is BAU at other companies. Good luck folks. No matter how hard you work , your just a number . IBM IS DEAD.
It's never done. They wait until folks are back from time off (vacation, short-term disability, etc) which includes the manager or the employee. Or maybe until a key deliverable has been completed.
Some still getting notices who couldn't be called yesterday. Rumor is for rolling cuts all year long. Won't be over until there's new leadership that focuses on building compelling products instead of share buybacks and financial engineering.
