Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Creating hundreds of thousands of "Anti-IBM'ers"

When you add in family and friends of those IBM has treated so poorly they have created hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS of people in the tech sector who will never, ever support an IBM purchase and who are working within customer sites and for competitors to see to it that they go out of business. Think about it, if you got dumped after decades with IBM and ended up at a customer site the answer to EVERY question about system performance and downtime would be "IBM f'ed it up AGAIN"

Perhaps this is why they are emphasizing healthcare, there are fewer people there HATE them. Meanwhile, they spend Billions on advertising and share buy backs.

Agree. Ask any younger folks about IBM and they look at you like who or what is IBM. We had a great brand name years back and blew it. We should have making the IBMphone , IBMMac . We had all the technical skills and money to boot. Just a shell now.

Yep. The powers-that-be at IBM don't seem to realize that the people they are casting aside actually do find other jobs, and in many cases are put in positions with significant decision-making ability regarding 3rd party vendors at their new employers...

IBM doesn't care about business in the US. There is no revenue growth in America. IBM is focused on revenue from developing countries where growth rates are much higher and profit margins are far more favorable.
