Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

There IS life after State Farm

I can sleep at night again.

I wake up happy and energized.

I look forward to my day.

I spend time with my friends and family.

I am no longer criticized, micromanaged and put down.

Finally, I am LIVING again.

I forgot what it felt like to feed good.

Get out while you can

To the previous poster. Welcome to SF. This is the way it’s always been. Never any basis for performance, experience or skills it’s always been who you know or who likes you. This is the way it’s been forever and I seriously doubt it will change.

But that does mean those that are chosen and stay behind probably won’t have the skills to sustain the operation let alone build out some form of a newer leaner farm. Good luck. Karma bites.

You people who sre commenting that this has anything to do with poorperformance are a bunch of idiots. Obviously you have no idea what is going on. People are being chosen based on how well someone likes them. There’s no review taking place of their past performance or their skills other than a check the box form. Grow up and figure it out this is the real world and it’s all about patronage brother. Pucker up.

Not getting an offer to stay would be a blessing for me. I'm tired of all the BS, and am looking forward to doing something different with my life.

"Perhaps the criticism was due to poor performance? Perhaps the reason you were cut?"

Nice try troll...

I decided I was tired of hating my job and not having a life, so I QUIT.

Best decision I ever made!

There are plenty of associates who are rated well and have been pushed out by the micromanaging. The metrics are impossible. The consultants and the management need to sit down at a desk and TRY to do the work the current associates are doing. They don't have a CLUE. which translates to they don't CARE to know. The reason people are cut is not a secret it's downsizing after the management made a big mistake of expanding in the wrong areas. Guess what --- those bad ideas we implemented are now biting the company's bottomline and it's really becoming a graveyard atmosphere. As for criticism - you have to brown nose to get the management jobs ssssssssssssooooooooooo the management DOES criticize because they don't know how to really manage, or care, or speak to associates the right way. Even OPEN doors don't help.

Preach brother! I left last fall and can agree with everything you wrote, Life is much better post-Farm. I tell all my old co-workers that they should leave, because as you said - there is life after State Farm.

Here, here.

I’ve never seen a level of micromanagement and brown nosing like I did at the farm. No place is perfect but that place was prison.

Glad you’re out and happy.
