Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

When a retail store closes how much of a notice is the average?

Do you know a month or two before or is there no notice at all?

Usually between 1-2 months. Might depend on area, but they usually let management go with severance and if possible send reps to other stores. Which is also why many locations are not backfilling right now, to leave room for people displaced by closures.

For the person who says the thread isn't necessary, store closures and ss layoffs are 2 different concepts. Any talk of ss layoffs is just rumor but stores are absolutely closing, very quietly, one at a time so as not to attract media attention and negative press. They pick a date for closure, alert the employees, make whatever arrangements are necessary, close the doors on a Saturday night, and Monday morning reopen as an authorized agent. It's happening everywhere but you don't hear much about it because customers don't even realize what happened due to high rep turnover anyway.

I was part of a store closure in 2017 the GM called everyone the night before, advising of the mandatory meeting . They held the meeting January 30th and we closed feb 28th. The GM does not even get word until the day before . If HR and the DM are there you are 100% closing hope this helps.

There is a sign on the door that says 'closed for remodeling' and the store is emptied out overnight is a good indication. Then watch your mail box for the paperwork to appear.

@@Sx4OO9O-yaw. Good thing you "quit", I'm glad you are no longer here. Now go finish building that wall and make sure you're on the other side when finished.

Its all in your best interest. I quit VZ 7 years ago and life is AMAZING. You should all quit too. New opportunities are all around you now that we have an actual human being as prez as opposed to a goof named obama. No reason to stay at VZ as long as trump is our boss.

According to my spreadsheet, the current store closing warning metric is 3.4 days, but the objective is 3.2 days. Unfortunately we have missed the 3.2 days objective to date, so no bonus will be awarded and you're all fired.

I would think that would be dependent on why the retail store is closing. I would suggest contacting the EEOC, they might be able to answer your question.
