What The Hum is going on?

Are other retail employees being threatened by not selling enough hums? We are being told to meet the numbers or get written up .....Hums pitched with every transaction even if it’s a routine bill pay. Store management is also being threatened if they can’t get the team to produce more sales of hum. This is getting ridiculous all over one product!

And set up later leads to no reason to have a rep in a store, buy online and setup yourself. This is why traffic is dwindling, customers are being groomed to shop on the website.

To make it even worse we have a tracker showing how many trades at home we’re doinng. We need to be more productive in the set up later or else we get written up! Because according to the company they can do without those who don’t follow the process

So why aren’t more people calling compliance? We need to bombard them with this stuff .....strength in numbers!

Well, in my store if you don't ask every single customer, including bombarding people at the bpk, you will get a negative coaching, 4 of those in a month and you are written up, hum, tab, jetpack to every customer, every time. The best people to offer it to are the ones that come in pissed off about something and leave even more pissed because instead of taking care of their issue we try to sell them something, or the " my bill is to high, how can I lower it" people. Mr customer have you seen this product that will add $10 to your bill even though you just said your bill was to high. You just have to sell the value....SMH. The direction from the higher ups is force it on everyone, write you up if you don't. Oh, and while you're at it,only sell the customer what they need after the discovery process and sell with integrity. Oh and hit 100% of your unattainable quota or we'll write you up for that.

Pitching to EVERY customer is not how to properly position or sell the product. There has to be a need for the product not to mention if a customer comes in with tech issues throwing Hum or Ipad at them isn't how you sell.

The continued comments continue to support the fact that VZW "leadership" doesn't actually know how to sell or position products.. Seriously the best answer they have is to push it on everyone no matter why they're in the store? Yeah that's very effective.

We have daily tracking for HUM sales in our area. We have to pitch growth AND Hum to every guest, the coaching to behavior is alright but they are micro managing to the process to death. I'm taking every guest and sitting at zero boxes so I'm coached because those tech isssue customers don't want to buy a HUM or iPad? WTF. If I don't pitch product I'm screwed even if I discovered a need, but then I'm still screwed if I pull numbers but don't demo or manage to sell a HUM. HR is only a phone call away for most of us specialist if this keeps up. Threats, coaching, PIP none of this is productive...

I didn't sell a single hum last month and didn't hear a word from my manager about it. No negative coaching either.

That’s micromanaging to the extreme. That’s not effective leadership thats borderline scare tactics. Seems like VZW doesn’t actually know how to position their products properly or train their employees to position them more effectively. This is a clear indicator they’re panicking and don’t have answers.

No procedures being handed down. Managers have to observe every single sale and if there’s a miss on unlimited or TMP they have to find a reason why, what the cost difference is, etc, and file a report with DM. For every sale.

We now have to pitch a growth product to every service customer, regardless of their problem. If you don’t, negating coaching. This is so stupid.

Hum product has a high profit margin. Which is why they're pushing that product. Never mind their poor customer service, flaws in the application/software, or flaws in the technology/hardware itself (have seen two cases where the hum interfered with the electrical components of the vehicle. Both cases hum said it was compatible and they didn't know why it would cause issues with the hum). If the product was revolutionary as Verizon claims it is, you wouldn't need sales reps slamming customers with the product. The market would've spoke for itself. It's a poor product with many others just like it if you want my honest opinion. Nothing original about it. Verizon following as usual.

Bottom line it's a VZW product which means more profit margin, which means more pressure.

No one wants to put a tracker in their car that records every single thing about how they drive - the speed, acceleration, braking, mileage and on and on. They know this Hum data is being sold by Verizon to your insurance company to raise your rates and to law enforcement etc. That's why Hum is being pushed - people don't want to be tracked and VZ makes money off your data.
