Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

They need to focus on the crappy DSP team in Austin!

Unless you worked there or for them you can’t inagine how inbred that team is. From the disgusting advances made by upper management to the foul mouthed nastiness of the admin. Simply put, clean that house up!

Dude? I think not. I could be man, woman or binary. But, that aside this happened within the last 3-4 years and one initial of the culprit is an ‘L’ that’s all I will say as I am waiting for qualcomm to step up and contact me regarding my concern.

Funny you mention about the awkward advances and other people. Sounds like this should have been brought up to someones attention. But, having said that I too was in a similar situation and brought it to HRs attention and was basically told to deal with it and not think too much into it as it was such a tight knit 'family' that this is acceptable and unless is blatant and the other party or parties is offended then its a non-issue. Oh well, not there any longer so not my problem.

I worked at the Austin site for the DSP team and I have to say from outside the team you don't see the dead weight that is lounging around and you don't see all the blatant disregard for rules and other peoples boundaries. I witnessed a SR Dir slap a female on her hind side. And she of course either pretended to or liked it. It to me was appalling and unacceptable. I have seen schedules and charts get obscured to please management when it wasn't even close to the real data. Honestly not surprised layoffs are happening, probably should have happened long ago. Austin as a whole is a good spot but there are some demons lurking in that office that need to be exorcised.

I guess OP want to volunteer for layoff, but unfornitely DSP team is not on the list this time. Actually, I don’t understand what OP is complaining. DSP team in Austin has much better culture than SD and its business is expanding quickly

Its probably the leanest group in Q. You see Austin has many other employers. So people dont to invent work like they do in SD. Its very easy to move elsewhere if needed. Austin is not a single company city.

Why do 'they' need to focus on an inbred, foul mouthed and crappy team ?

Sounds like a bad working environment from which expensive human resources will self-lay-off......
