The quota system has been broken for years I’m talking 10+ years. The purpose at its core is to make the company more money and reps less money.

I was there for several com plan changes and seemed like every time they changed it i had to sell more and made less. No matter what i did i was constantly fighting an uphill battle of unobtainable quota and i was a guy who was winfalled many times and been to winners circle multiple times.

The best way to describe quota is “Work harder not smarter” Its a system designed to ensure majority of reps fail. End of story

@T4PjioP-1vjv why do you think store management has anything to do with the quota system? Even district level can't change our commission structure. Management has zero control of this, and in fact are also subject to the same system. No store management is making any money, and lots are as jaded and over it as we are, just hoping for a layoff.

This idea that management is all in to vzw, drinking the Kool aid and enjoying us not hitting quota or micromanaging is just silly.

Ivjv...spot on, traffic is bill pays and brown boxes, if you divide traffic into our stores quota you would have to sell a commisionable item to 70% of the customers that come in. Good luck with that, we're lucky if 10% of our traffic is buying. Our promos s---, renews are becoming as hard to sell as a new because nobody wants to raise their bill, and all we have to offer is a hum. Laughable.

Op-mss No attitude, just explaining everyday in a Verizon corporate store, that's all!. When 4 people in a store of 14 hits quota in a month ,that's a volume problem ( genius) Oh, that's right Management thinks that the archaic quota system is still a viable form of compensation in the saturated market of 2018 with no new products to excite the general public to walk in the front door. The front line employees help these people everyday with a smile, while management writes you up on productivity, you can't make it up! Management do not care if we take an hour to help our customers they want numbers with out most of them getting involved or helping the amount of people that walk in too BUY is not sufficient to hit the numbers wanted monthly.

@T4PjioP-uel Wtf, I didn’t know that.

Everybody I’ve met in this company are dumb d!ckheads (females included) who walk around with ugly backpacks, obnoxious LV purses and red bottoms to meetings about selling a cases and screen protectors. So yea, thank you for telling me how to make my money instead of just their money.

You guys do know how your quota is calculated right? It’s the number of transactions that can produce a receipt. Upgrade, plan change, tmp, feature change, new line.

So let’s say a customer wants to do an upgrade with tmp md. The upgrade is one transaction. the tmp has to be done on a separate order. So that’s two. Then let’s say they decided to do unlimited data but want it future dated. That’s another transaction. That’s 3.

We have a rep in our store who is a good rep. They like to make sure everything is ok during the Transaction and processes things separately to avoid system issues....our dm said that rep costs our store 60 more new a month. Effff the system

@gaz...with your attitude towards customers that need help no wonder you struggle with hitting your quota. Perhaps if acted the least bit helpful with those customers needing your expertise you might turn them into profitable customers. Instead of lying to them to get sales be honest and upfront with them. You can only dupe customers so many times before they will refuse to buy something from you. Sales has a reputation of being shady, what are you doing to turn that reputation around?

To zox

There’s no problem with the economy. The mall is empty because most people shop online. Layoffs by the thousands? Maybe so but on the other end of that thousands of other jobs are opening up. It’s all a cycle and depends on where you live. The ones that survive are the ones that adapt the quickest. If you want to stay employed, go to school and get a degree in a field that is always needed like medicine or something along those lines. For businesses, it’s stay ahead of the curb like Amazon. Unfortunately for Verizon, our top management doesn’t think outside of the box and is blindsided by the fact that for the moment we have the best network but what happens when our network isn’t the best?

Think about it! It's 2018 and people are walking into a retaill store to pay a bill, with all the bill payment options you still see this everyday. Unopened fedex boxes , mostly Apple phones were its a simple sim change then restore from iCloud, all the instructions in the box, and they come in with the box unopened usually no opportunity unless it's a new device or upgrade! 2 type of store customers stupid and confrontary stupid.

How long will it take before people finally figure out there is a problem with the economy? Stores closing by the thousands? Check.

Empty malls? Check

Layoffs everywhere? Check

Oh yeah, it's Amazon's fault with their 4% market share. The same Amazon that's been around for decades and somehow you survived.

We have people come in to pay their bill, you even ask to help them and they throw their hand up " I'm just paying a bill" , thaey want nothing to do with a rep, and mind you, probably 25% of our traffic is bill pay, add that to the brown boxes and the I can't remember my passwords and that's about 95% of our traffic.

My DM says "Control the controllables." We can't force people into the store, but those that do come in have to buy two growth products and 139 in ARD. Easy, right? Oh and by the way your income is going down by a 1/3. hehehe.
