No poverty if you saved a lot of money and spent your earnings mindfully. One can retire by ~45 comfortably

I was part of the May 4th layoff. 66+ so past FRA. Just waiting around for an opportunity to volunteer and leave with a year’s full wages. Having saved $1M + in my IRA and 401K by maxing out my 401k when the opportunity arose at QC, I am ready for retirement, no need to compete for a job. I am sure that I am happily leaving the rat race behind as are many others my age... this was part of my plan for retirement as I could see this coming for a number of years now with the current mismanagement! Just surprised that it took so long...

If you are 55 and haven‘t started your own business yet, then I see poverty in your future.
