Just thought I'd bring this info here as well, since it's all over Verizon Communications forum.
Not sure where people are getting their info, but from what I can gather, we are looking at another major round of cuts next week.
I was hoping we were done for a while, but I guess I was wrong.
Guess we'll just find out tomorrow.

That sounds familiar. We were told the same thing last November, then the 16,000 job cuts happened.
I hope I'm wrong, but this is the same pattern as November. I'm afraid on May 17th we'll another big layoff.
From what I know SS are safe. Turn over is too high for them to do cuts. They want to force the old people out 10+ years and get new people in. The SS rift is just SM trying to make it seem like they aren't the only ones who are going to lose their jobs. If your going to lay off people you do it all at once you don't do multiple rounds its too easy for stock holders to panic when they see multi round layoffs.

Not true, someone on the forum just predicted yesterday's cut would be on May 17th but it actually happened yesterday.
they do it to anyone... it's a numbers game
