Thread regarding Sears layoffs

"Your paycheck will be bigger, if it didn't already get bigger!"

Has anyone seen a raise that was not a result of the recent tax changes?

The only thing I noticed this year my hours cut from 25 to less than 15.

Only "rise" I ever saw is when they actually increased our pay for about the last two months of our liquidation... Nothing to do with this tax crap though.

I have. That is because I got a new job with another company. I worked for Sears for 38 years and have not had a raise for the last 10 years I worked for them. All is well now.

@tzo That change is probably just because the IRS requires withholding less from each paycheck due to the changes in your personal income tax calculations (you will owe less income tax for this year, so the company you work for withholds less from each check towards your tax balance). Rather than due to Sears actually paying you more out of their own pockets (on the 'top line', before your personal tax withholding and other stuff comes out of your check).

I did a few months ago. I'm salary so it was easy to see the difference. My check went up $100.
