Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How to call a human at Sears?

Does anyone know a trick to getting someone to pick up the phone at a Sears store? I'd like to ask if the store is closing. The system seems to be: call, pick a department, let it ring, hang up, call again, pick another department, let it ring, hang up, repeat, surrender.

I'm not just saying this for a joke, I seriously would like a solution if you can think of one. I am literally unable to make contact with a single human at a Sears store.

There ARE no humans left in the few stores still open.

When you call the store telephone number respond to the voice response service with "Large Appliances" and then "Store". If you're lucky there's a 50/50 chance a consultative associate will pick up the phone. Otherwise all you're going to get is the store answering machine if they have one.

What about the appliance and other commissioned departments on SYW? The "ask an in store pro" member assist option under Community?

If you know what department the main checkout is in or next to (presumably at the front of the place), try that department. (Was Juniors in mine.) If you can ring them where that register is you should be able to find actual humans.

I assume they may be like mine was after a while, when limited hours did not allow for someone to always be at the jewelry counter. On shifts like that a manager at mine would hop back there when someone needed help in person and get the calls redirected to them elsewhere in the store, but the phone back there is a dead end if no one is at that counter as others without access can't get to it.
