We were notified last week that Mail forms (PA1 funtion) is going to be leaving October 31st.. Being told that we “may” be obsorbed into the DE function if thats the case are they going to give us the PA2 pay? My guess is no. Has anyone else heard otherwise? Guess we will find out in Oct what our options are.

If they do like they did for CSU when they went through this 18 mos ago, you will be absorbed into the DE team and trained to do some entry level transactions.

My experience with transitions has been that you don't normally come out ahead. You have indicated that you have been given a QTD of 10/31, which is when your function will be moved. Based on past transitions, I don't see them absorbing you into another unit unless there is a shortage of people in that unit as it would result in a net increase in people count. This whole transition has been about doing more with fewer people. For example, Proximity is going down 3000 people 7/31. +/- 5000 people will be doing the work that 8000 had been doing.
The best you can hope for after 10/31 is to still have a job. You should be able to post for other positions, and if qualified, you may be selected. Otherwise, your job will be gone 10/31 and you will be given sort of buy out if you stay through the QTD. You would most likely hear what your options are, along with more info well before October. My guess would be that you will hear more in July to allow time to make decisions.
