Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

AT&T buys Time Warner

The deal went through. Now AT&T will have similar debt to VZ I am guessing. Lets see how the leadership deals with this at both of the companies

VZ will now buy Home Shopping Network to compete with ATT's Time Warner service HBO, TBS, TNT, CNN.

HSN will sell VZ phones exclusively with Go90 and Oath preinstalled.

Historically, when companies make an acquisition via buying vertically, they overpay. My guess is that AT&T is likely going to follow that historical trend and end up overpaying as well, IMHO.

There's a school of thought based upon documented history that, only by acquiring horizontally, does a company stand a fighting chance of accurately gauging the worth of an acquisition, as there's some level of expertise within that field that makes ascertaining the real value of an entity doable (again, IMHO).

ATT already has 100 billion in debt. This will put them nearly double VZ debt after Time Warner’s liabilities.

This is a bold move. They are focusing more on content over network for delivery.

Well now Verizon will go out and buy some other company to mimic AT&T recent purchase and directions

I am thinking AT&T will make money on it's purchases unlike what Verizon is doing with it's recent acquisitions with the debt that came with it. Drive another nail in the coffin for VZW.
