Layoffs in Field Sales and Customer Success groups

Layoffs in Field Sales and Customer Success groups will be spaced out over the next four months.

Where did this info come from?

Someone needs to muzzle JB in Bedford. He loves to share too much info and now has the staff concerned about their roles. He confirmed layoffs will need to happen. They have a headcount number they must meet.

DJ JB should focus on his new role in trying to selling Advanced Services. Everyone knows that will be an uphill battle.

Ex Oracle here ... Customer Success division is a waste of money and a useless overlay.

Will be among the first to go once the ship sinks deeper. Useless !

A quick correction and more info on @1iyw post for EMEA CS.

OMC CS has been destroyed as a separate unit and merged with CS. Field CSM layoffs are happening across EMEA after management increased the engagement threshold. Every customer with <200k$ ARR will be "served" by CSMs in the Romanian hub and this threshold is expected to increase soon (H2 probably). In addition, DM's team is working on a "Commercialisation project" for CS - i.e. making CS a paid service. Field Sales are now expected to execute renewals (not escalations).

My prediction for the end-game is that Consulting will fully absorb (and layoff) Field CSMs by FY20 with very few customers wanting to pay for a field CSM. DM is working towards his next RiF and MB keeps smiling accross the wires.

The layoff happened in EMEA OMC CS already and will likely occur in the CX CS organisation in the coming month. Everything is moving to Romania. DM and his team prepared a series of promotional videos yet customers are left without a CSM. Sales is expected to handle escalations. There has been no communication from the leadership to the remaining CSMs either.

thx: THANKS for the heads up. It’s a sales job but when you read text, that really doesn’t stand out. The ed requirements are steep too for a measly 130 large.

When your VP says over and over again that we will be a much smaller organization in a few months and next year, it’s a pretty fair assumption that they will be cutting staff. Sad!

@TDUK1yu-vjk Those are hubs. Be only willing to apply if you want a $70-$100k base with a bonus that might get you to the $130k range. Maybe a little higher if you blow it out, but earnings will be capped and comp plans will be incredibly complex. You will have to hit all of your goldilocks gates to be able to max out.

Meanwhile, MH will get a cool $50 million for doing a terrible job.

They've been having attrition for years. It accelerated going into Q4. Oracle is the new IBM.

So.... this Customer Success oracle job posting I am looking at, where they want to build a new Solution Engineering business with hubs in Reston and Denver is not for real?

It shows up under Burlington MA jobs in stinked-in.

Who has the 411 on this?

I heard it directly from my M6. Multiple times telling us we need attrition.
